Brookings register | Extension program focused on the impact of reproductive technologies on herd success

BROOKINGS – South Dakota State University Extension will be hosting a Breeding Technology Program for Beef Cow / Calf Producers on November 23 at 10 a.m. at the Watertown Regional Extension Center, located at 1910 W. Kemp Ave. in Watertown.

The program, “Impact of Reproductive Technologies on Herd Success,” will include presentations on reproductive technology opportunities, changes in calving distribution and feedlot performance with reproductive technologies, and ‘saving for more books.

The subjects and speakers are:

10:00 am – “Advances in Reproductive Technologies,” George Perry, Associate Research Professor in Beef Cattle Reproductive Physiology, Texas A&M University

11h00 – “Influence of reproductive technologies on calving distribution and calf performance after weaning”, Julie Walker, professor and beef specialist SDSU Extension

Noon – Lunch

1 p.m. – “What if? The potential for more books, faster ”, Matthew Diersen, professor and risk and business management specialist at SDSU Extension

2:00 p.m. – Trip to Moes Feedlot
