Center for Surrogacy Law Launches New Interactive Map of Surrogacy Law in the United States

Interactive map to guide you through surrogacy laws in each state.

CARLSBAD, CA, USA, April 11, 2022 / — The Surrogacy Law Center is thrilled to announce the launch of a new interactive map that was created to help expectant parents and surrogates understand surrogacy laws to better determine which states they would prefer to work in.

California surrogacy law is strong and protects the rights of intended parents, regardless of gender, marital status, sexual orientation, or genetic connection to their child. In most cases, even if your surrogate gives birth outside of California, you can still receive a parentage judgment from a California court. California law provides that its courts have jurisdiction over surrogacy cases not only when the child was born in the state, but also when the embryo transfer is performed in California or when the intended parents reside in California. Most states accept California parentage orders based on full faith and credit under the US Constitution.

“Over the years I have always had clients around the world ask me questions about California surrogacy laws and obtaining CA parentage orders and we are thrilled to be able to offer them this easy to use, low cost card. no matter where they are,” said Stephanie Caballero, Esq., Director of the Center for Surrogacy Law.

When using the map, you will receive a brief overview of surrogacy arrangements that may work in each state (particularly where a California judgment of parentage is obtained), based on factors such as genetic connection intended parents with the child, marital status and sexual status. orientation. Although the card is based on the company’s extensive experience working on thousands of surrogacy arrangements, persons viewing the card are advised that the information contained in the card does not constitute legal advice and is solely for reference purposes. Published information is subject to change without notice and its accuracy is not guaranteed.
